Design Museum
The award-winning Design Museum in London wanted to provide an interactive digital experience to visitors to their Sneakers Unboxed exhibition (a look behind the curtain of the sneaker industry). The exhibition allows the public to design their own sneakers, share their designs instantly with their friends, and enter a competition to find the best new sneaker designer.
We built a platform to fulfil their requirements and work fluidly on any device using Laravel and Vue.js. This allowed them to segregate the large vector files used as part of the shoe design, and then compress and isolate them on different pages to ensure that all functions loaded quickly and displayed the shoe material. Despite the complex layers and large files, the site was built to load on the user side quickly and ensure that the activity of customising the sneakers felt natural and spontaneous.
